What is Reiki?
There is a universal energy or life flow that courses through all things. When that flow is clear and open, we as beings, are in balance and harmony. It is our natural state to feel good and connected to nature and those around us. Many things can cause that flow to be blocked or restricted, such as the stress we are under, situations that feel challenging and constant thoughts from the mind that cause us to be out of balance.
Reiki is a method to basically open those pathways of energy, to clear and release any blockages and leave us feeling energized and peaceful at the same time. The practitioner operates as a conduit, or as I like to think of it, a human extension cord. The Reiki master, through specific techniques, symbols and intentions, allows life force energy to flow through them, to the receiver, focusing on bringing the body back into balance. The practitioner places their hands a few inches above the energy centers on the body, or in some cases on the physical body where appropriate, until the energy is re-aligned.
While each of us will experience a Reiki treatment differently, most express feeling a deep sense of peace and relaxation, and others feel extremely energized. One can feel sensations like warmth, coolness and tingling as energy moves as well. Overall, Reiki is a pleasant experience that is healing for us on all levels.
About Jennifer Schlosser
The heart is what truly makes the human experience extraordinary. Jennifer Schlosser lives to infuse heart into every aspect of her life, while inspiring others to do the same. Though she wears many hats, her most cherished role is as a mother of two, working to raise her children (and grow herself) holistically and eco-consciously. Jennifer is a firm believer that true healing and health come from living in tune with nature and the seasons.
Jennifer has been a student of yoga since 2013, completing Annie Carpenter’s SmartFLOW 200-hour training with Tiffany Russo in October 2015. Taking the next step on her journey to share her passion for holistic health and healing, she graduated from Usui/Holy Fire Reiki Level II training in March 2018. Together, these two modalities allow her to share balance, self-compassion, tenderness, and nurturing to her students and clients.
When she’s not at the studio, you can find her behind the lens, photographing individuals, couples, families, and more all over Washington state. She feels the most grounded when spending time in dense Pacific Northwest forests, and enjoys her free time with cherished friends, eating as many tacos as she can get her hands on!
About Tana Daugherty
Tana is a mindful yin & restorative yoga instructor and Reiki Practitioner who incorporates reflexology, Reiki and crystal healing into her teaching to guide her students on their journey to reset and heal. She found her way back to her yoga mat after many years away, when injuries left her feeling insecure with her body and physical abilities. It was through her return to yoga that she began to heal her body and spirit. Tana emphatically believes that yoga is for everybody and every body – regardless of age, gender, ability or body type.
Tana is a Reiki Master (2017), certified crystal healer (2018), and reflexologist (2020). She earned her 200hr YTT with The Craft (2019); her Yin teacher certifications through Pamela Chang (2018), Leah Adams and Eric Baumgartner (2019); and Restorative yoga certification with Satya Greenstone (2019). She is a certified FireFlex yoga instructor – teaching first responders to connect to their breath through yoga. She is currently studying for her certificate in Yoga Therapy counseling.
Away from the studio, Tana enjoys time with her three beautiful children and husband. She runs a successful real estate team, works with private yoga and Reiki clients, and runs an online mother-daughter business selling healing crystals and oils.
