It’s a new year and time to embrace 2022 with health, happiness, and wholeness in mind. Invest in yourself and join Bala Yoga for the 2022 New Year, New You. This course is open to yoga teachers and practitioners alike, designed for all levels. We will cover eastern healing modalities and yoga in conjunction with the current astrological weather.
There will be daily lectures complemented by extended practice Yin (relaxing passive static stretching) practices with group acupuncture (you can elect not to be the acupuncture).
Your hosts will be Anne Gordon from Atha Wellness, a licensed acupuncture physician and 200-hour RYT in power vinyasa, and Bala’s own Ali Valdez, a 500-RYT and certified astrologer. Together, they represent over 15,000 training hours and hands-on expertise in their respective fields and yoga.
Counts towards 8 hours of Yoga Alliance Continued Education.

Teaching Session: 12-2:15pm
An overview of Five Element theory in classical Chinese Medicine including Zang-Fu organ pairings and corresponding emotions, physical attributes (yin/yang), recommended foods, and self-healing.
Workshop: 2:30-4:00pm
Yin and extended savasana paired with acupuncture focusing on the kidney and urinary bladder meridians to support us through the winter.
SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 6
Teaching Session: 12-2:15pm
An overview of this year’s astrological placements and points of significance. (one-on-one readings available for additional fee)
Workshop: 2:30-4:00pm
An integrated full-body yin practice paired with acupuncture focusing on support for all the meridians.
