Jñāna: Sanskrit representing deep wisdom.

Get your 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training with industry mentors Dikla Kafka, Lara Ederer, and Richard Guevara starting January at Bala Yoga Kirkland! This power teaching trio will draw on over 52 combined years of training experience and a rich tradition of lineages, including Ashtanga, Hatha, Restorative and Yin—beginning with the fundamentals and diving deep into the teachings of Asana, Pranayama, Subtle Body, Anatomy, Philosophy and Meditation.

All of your instructors are 500 Hour E-RYT and YACEP with Yoga Alliance. Jñana Yoga Teacher Training is a part of Viveka Yoga: a 200 and 500 hour certified school through Yoga Alliance that has trained over 100 teachers in the greater Seattle area since 2017.

Our students not only qualify at the RYT-200 hour level with Yoga Alliance, but are automatically added to Bala Yoga’s teaching sub list. You’ll have the opportunity to lead regular community classes and fine-tune your teaching.

Take advantage of THREE of Seattle’s most experienced trainers, with over 50 years of collective training experience in the room. In this training, you’ll draw from a wealth of background, wisdom, and movement styles.

Unlike online programs, we believe one-on-one feedback is what develops a solid foundation. We facilitate your unique journey with individualized attention as you move through the program.

I started my yoga journey back in Tel Aviv, my hometown, in 2003, after five years of Korean martial arts practice. I was immediately drawn to the magic and depth of yoga. I practiced Ashtanga, Iyengar, and Sivananda yoga and finished my level 1 Ashtanga training in 2010 while pregnant with my second child.

I teach Ashtanga, Vinyasa, and Hatha yoga. I currently teach at Bala Yoga Kirkland. I have led TT programs since 2017 and advanced trainings and Yoga Philosophy workshops since 2015. In my spare time, I play the violin and practice martial arts.

Lara was introduced to yoga in 2002 by a newly certified friend who needed practice students. Over the next several years she ventured in and out of the practice as well as different styles until she found her “home” in Vinyasa and Ashtanga traditions.

In 2011 she completed her 200 Hour with Be Luminous with a primary focus in Power Vinyasa, Vinyasa, and Slow Flow. Lara has spent the last 6 years studying with her teacher Tiffany Cruickshank and Yoga Medicine, a school that is an adjunct to eastern and western medicine with a yogic component. In August, 2018 Lara completed her 500 hour advanced studies having added yin, restorative, myofascial release, therapeutics, internal medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine, orthopedics, and cadaver dissection studies to her training experiences. Lara is also registered as a Therapeutic Specialist and has continued with her 1000 hour studies through Yoga Medicine.

In addition to teaching she is the co-founder of Yogalab Northwest, a community inspired organization that hosts international yoga teachers in the Seattle area. YLNW has hosted Sri Dharma Mittra, Kino Macgregor, Jason Crandell, Tiffany Cruickshank, Chris Chavez, Amy Ippoliti, Carmen Aguilar. As co-founder of Viveka Yoga RYS with Dikla Kafka, Lara has mentored 59 aspiring yoga teachers in 5 separate 200 hour YTT programs and graduated 4 from one 300 hour advanced training. Richard was introduced to yoga 2010 by friends who continually pushed him to try it out to help remedy the loss of range of motion and pain encountered after tearing an ACL more than once.

Richard is 500 RYT instructor, who has trained with Annie Carpenter (SmartFlow) & Tiffany Russo as well as countless other teachers like Jason Crandall, Sri Dharma Mittra and more.

As a former athlete who suffered multiple injuries resulting in chronic pain, he found comfort and relief through his yoga practice. It became such a vital part of his life that he decided to enroll in teacher training; he has been an active instructor and student ever since. Richards’ classes always begin by consciously arriving and dropping into the breath. Classes include a combination of functional movement, yoga postures, opportunities for stillness and presence as well as myofascial release coupled with meditation. He avidly believes in yoga’s ability to restore and heal the body as well as the mind.
